Of the prop firms that accept crypto payment for a challenge, HyroTrader takes the widest list of coins (ten, from BTC to DAI and SHIB), Upscale supports the most USDT networks (five, including TON), and BrightFunded is the only one we found that accepts bitcoin over Lightning. Across the 27 firms we track, 21 accept crypto at checkout, two do not, and four publish no payment list we could verify. FTMO is the one firm that charges extra for it: 3% on crypto, nothing on cards.
What paying in crypto changes
Paying in crypto means sending coins to an invoice address instead of charging a card. Three things change; one does not.
- Fees. FTMO adds 3%. No other firm we checked states a crypto surcharge.
- Refunds. Refunds go back to the method you used, and a crypto payment cannot be charged back.
- Deadlines. FundingPips says its crypto invoices have a validity window; a late transfer can fail.
- Payout coin. Unchanged. Payment and payout are separate rails at every firm, so BrightFunded accepts seven coins and pays out in USDC only.
Sending on the wrong network is the most expensive checkout mistake. Bitfunded's FAQ warns that funds sent on a mismatched chain are lost.

Firm notes
HyroTrader. Card payments for UK and European buyers route through Hyro Finance in Slovakia. The One-Step and Two-Step fees are refundable deposits returned with your first payout; the Zero-Step fee is not refundable once activated. See the HyroTrader review.
Upscale. Broadest network choice and a Telegram mini-app. Note the KYC-before-withdrawal clause in its terms despite "No KYC" marketing. See the Upscale review.
Funded Trader Markets. Stablecoins on six networks in, but a 5% processing fee on crypto rewards on the way out.
FTMO. Crypto takes up to 24 hours to confirm and costs 3%; cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Revolut Pay are instant and free. FTMO does not charge that 3% on its crypto payouts. See the FTMO review.
HyperPNL. USDC in and USDC out. If you hold only USDT or fiat, you pay an exchange fee first. See the HyperPNL review.
Checklist before you send coins
- Match the network in your wallet to the one on the invoice.
- Check for a surcharge (only FTMO states one).
- Read the refund rule; crypto payments cannot be reversed by your bank.
- Pay within the invoice window.
- Keep payment and payout separate in your planning: check the payout coin on our crypto payouts list.
Who doesn't take crypto
Kraken Prop accepts card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or a verified Kraken USD balance, but no crypto checkout. The5ers lists card, bank transfer and "other means" without naming crypto. Propr, TradeXProp, WenCrypto and AquaFunded publish no payment list on the pages we read; Propr settles fees through a merchant of record.
Trade-offs
Crypto checkout is convenient and often the only option in regions where cards fail, but you lose chargeback protection. That makes the firm's own refund policy and track record more important. If you are new to a firm, a card payment is the safer first purchase where it is offered free. Whether a payment method works in your country is covered on the country access page, and the full field is ranked on our best crypto prop firms page.
