This FundingPips review asks whether a popular, low-cost forex prop firm makes sense for crypto. FundingPips does let you trade bitcoin and ether on every model it sells. But the crypto offer is thin: two symbols, leverage that halves once you are funded, and a daily auto-close on funded accounts unless you pay extra. For many crypto traders those three facts decide the matter before price even comes up.
Who runs FundingPips
The operating company is FundingPips Corp, registered in the Comoros Union (HY01223081). It holds an IBC brokerage licence that it says it does not use. Its registered address is in IFZA Business Park, Dubai, and a support entity, FundingPips Services Ltd, sits in Cyprus. The firm says it has operated since 2022. The RBI's Alert List does not mention it.
One contradiction stands out: the UAE is on FundingPips' restricted-country list even though its address is in Dubai. The help centre also describes its accounts as demo accounts, so all trading is simulated. See simulated vs real capital for what that implies.
How the challenges work
FundingPips sells four evaluation models plus an instant account called Zero.
| Model | Target | Daily loss | Max loss (type) | Minimum days | Funded consistency |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2 Step Pro | 6% / 6% | 3% | 6% (static) | None | 35% on demand |
| 2 Step Standard | 8% / 5% | 5%, or 3% option | 10% (static) | 3 per phase; none with 3% daily | 35% on demand |
| 2 Step Flex | 10% / 8% | 4% | 12% (static) | 1 per phase, or 3 profitable days for a 95% split | 35% on demand |
| 1 Step Flex | 12% | 3%, or 2% option | 12% (static) | None | 35% on demand |
| Zero (instant) | None | 3% | 5% (trailing) | Seven profitable days to qualify for a reward | Best day at most 15% |
The 1 Step Flex is marketed as the "1 Day Pass". Choosing the lower daily-loss option makes an account cheaper, which we cover below.
The rules that shape crypto trading
Leverage is the first constraint. Crypto runs at 1:2 in both evaluation phases, then falls to 1:1 when you reach the Master stage, swap-free accounts included. Swing and swap-free accounts trade crypto at 1:1 from the start. A $20,000 bitcoin position needs $10,000 of margin while you are being evaluated and the full $20,000 once you are funded.
Without the Swing add-on, every funded Master trade is closed by the system each day in a window ending 21:00 UTC in summer (22:00 UTC in winter). Zero accounts that hold anything into the weekend are terminated.
Weekend rules differ by stage. Evaluations may hold crypto over the weekend. Funded Master accounts cannot hold overnight or over weekends unless you bought Swing for an extra 10% at purchase. A system close is not a breach, though you don't earn a trading day from it. FundingPips calls this a temporary weekend restriction, and another comparison site dates it to 29 January 2026, so re-check it before relying on it. Our weekend holding guide compares other firms.
Weekend trades also have their own trading-day logic. A trade both opened and closed on Saturday or Sunday earns no trading day and leaves the 30-day inactivity timer running. A weekend trade closed on a weekday counts on the closing day, and a weekday trade closed at the weekend does not count at all.
News rules apply on funded accounts. Standard models block a window of five minutes either side of high-impact news, and for speeches the window runs until five minutes after the speech ends. Profits from those trades are removed. Zero is stricter: no opening, closing or holding within ten minutes, or the account is breached. Trades opened five hours or more before an event are exempt.
Costs and value per $10K
Crypto trades pay 0.04% commission (lot size Γ price Γ 0.04%), so one lot of BTCUSD at $80,000 costs $32. Swap-free status doesn't exempt crypto from swaps, and FundingPips doesn't publish the rate.
| Account | 2 Step Pro | 2 Step Standard | 1 Step Flex | Zero |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| $5,000 | $29 | $39 | $74 | $60 |
| $10,000 | $55 | $72 | $111 | $88 |
| $25,000 | $145 | $195 | $255 | $188 |
| $50,000 | $249 | $349 | $353 | $244 |
| $100,000 | $466 | $652 | $666 | $444 |
| $200,000 | $919 | β | β | $888 |
The 2 Step Flex sits between Pro and Standard, from $35 to $555. Per $10,000, the 2 Step Pro costs $46.60 at $100,000 and $58 at $5,000, while Zero at $100,000 works out to $44.40. Choosing a 3% daily limit drops the $100,000 2 Step Standard to $544, and a 2% limit drops the 1 Step Flex to $529. Swing adds $55.50 at $100,000. The firm doesn't refund fees unless legally obliged to. Compare prices on our cheapest crypto prop firms list.
Checkout takes Visa and Mastercard, PayPal, Skrill, Neteller, Paysafecard, Apple Pay, Google Pay and crypto. Crypto invoices expire after a set window.
Payouts
Crypto rewards are paid only on Ethereum (ERC20), in USDT or USDC, and the minimum is 1% of your Master account. Expect service, exchange-rate and network fees to come off, and note there is no published cap. Processing takes one to three working days. Rise and bank transfers need at least $500.
Your split depends on the cycle you choose. On the 2 Step Standard, weekly payouts pay 60%, bi-weekly 80% and on demand 100%. Since 21 October 2026 the on-demand 100% cycle covers all four evaluation models, and the monthly cycle is gone. It requires a 35% consistency score and seven profitable days of at least 0.5%. Use the consistency calculator to check your record, and see our crypto payouts list for firms on cheaper networks than Ethereum.
Access
US access is murky. FundingPips' own help pages let US residents take evaluations yet keep them out of the post-funding Prime account, while a review site states FundingPips does not accept US traders. Confirm at checkout before paying. Iran, Vietnam, the UAE and sanctioned countries are restricted. Indian and UK traders are accepted.
Recent changes
October 2026 was busy. The free trial page now makes clear that a trial can never earn profit or lead to a Master account. The on-demand 100% cycle was extended as described above. And 2-Step prices fell at the three smallest sizes, with the $5,000 2 Step Standard going from $44 to $39. Our rule change log has every entry.
Who FundingPips suits, and who should avoid it
FundingPips suits forex traders who want occasional intraday exposure to bitcoin or ether, value low entry prices and are happy with ERC20 stablecoin payouts. Its static floors and on-demand 100% cycle are genuinely good.
Avoid it if crypto is your main market or you hold positions for more than a session. Firms like HyroTrader and Kraken Prop let funded crypto positions run through nights and weekends. Our crypto vs forex prop firms guide sets out the wider differences.
FundingPips review verdict
Our FundingPips review scores the firm 72 out of 100. Rules, cost and transparency all score well, and the payout cycle is flexible. Access is the weak spot, along with a crypto offer that exists more for completeness than for crypto specialists. For forex-first traders it is a strong pick. For crypto-first traders, the funded auto-close makes it hard to recommend.
