This AquaFunded review looks at the firm from a crypto trader's point of view. AquaFunded is not a crypto specialist: it is a multi-asset prop firm whose crypto CFDs sit inside its forex-style challenges, and since October 2026 it also sells two dedicated crypto products. Entry prices are among the lowest we track, but a 3% fee on every payout and crypto rules that live only on product cards change the picture once you look past the sticker price.
What AquaFunded is and who runs it
AquaFunded says it was established in 2023. Its footer names two companies, Aqua Funded FZCO in the UAE and AquaFunded LTD in Saint Lucia (company no. 2004-00597), without saying which of them actually contracts with you. The Saint Lucia address also ends in a UK-style postcode, a small oddity worth knowing about.
All accounts are simulated. The help centre is explicit that you trade virtual funds against real quotes, and that eligible payouts are paid in real money. If that distinction is new to you, our explainer on simulated vs real capital covers it.
How the challenges work
Crypto is available in three ways:
- Standard challenges (Instant Standard, Pro and Flex; 1-Step Standard and Flex; 2-Step Standard, Pro and Elite) all list crypto CFDs at 1:2 leverage.
- Crypto 1 Step: one phase, a 10% target, 3% daily loss and 6% maximum loss.
- Crypto Instant: no evaluation, a 3% daily and 5% maximum loss from day one.
The two crypto products reached checkout while the firm's crypto subdomain still carried a "Coming Soon" banner. Neither has a help-centre article, so the figures above come from product cards alone. The card lists no minimum days and no news rule for the Crypto 1 Step, and it does not say whether the maximum loss is static or trailing.
For comparison, the 1-Step Standard asks for 9% with a 3% daily limit and a 6% maximum that trails the highest balance or equity, and the 2-Step Standard asks for 8% then 5% with a 5% daily limit and an 8% static floor. If you are unsure how those two floor types play out, read trailing vs static drawdown before choosing.
The rules that matter most
Drawdown and daily reset
On the standard models the daily limit resets at 00:00 UTC and is measured from the higher of balance or equity. The crypto cards give no reset time, so treat midnight UTC as an assumption rather than a fact on those two products. Our drawdown calculator lets you model both floor types before you pay.
Consistency
Funded stages carry a best-day share rule: if a single day accounts for more than 15% or 50% of profit (depending on the model), the payout is held back until the ratio falls. It does not breach the account. Instant Flex is the exception with no such rule. See how this compares in our guide to consistency rules.
Weekends and news
Crypto trades around the clock, weekends included, and the help centre places no limit on holding positions outside normal market hours. A weekend position still counts against the daily limit. The firm publishes no crypto-specific news rule. For background, see weekend holding rules.
Leverage
Here the firm contradicts itself. The standard model articles give crypto 1:2, while the crypto product cards say "up to 1:5". At 1:2, a $10,000 crypto position ties up $5,000 of margin; at 1:5 it ties up $2,000. Check what your platform actually shows before sizing a trade, and use the position size calculator to work backwards from your stop.
AquaFunded sells two crypto challenges that have no rulebook behind them. Screenshot the product card at purchase so you have a record of the terms you bought.
Costs and value per $10K
Prices are low across the board. These list prices exclude the firm's own rotating sale codes.
| Plan | $5K | $10K | $50K | $100K |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Crypto 1 Step | $69 | $149 | $499 | $899 |
| Crypto Instant | $99 | $179 | $599 | $999 |
| 2-Step Pro | $20 | $39.20 | $143.20 | $279.20 |
| 1-Step Standard | $57.08 | $96.93 | $281.08 | $453.39 |
Per $10,000 of funding, the 2-Step Pro at $100K works out under $28, which is very cheap. The Crypto 1 Step at $100K is about $90 per $10K and Crypto Instant about $100. cTrader adds $15 to the crypto challenges. Crypto commission is $0, though the floating spread is not quantified and the firm publishes no swap figure for crypto.
The real cost sits at the other end. Every payout loses 3% to a processing fee, taken after the split. On a $5,000 profit at 90%, you request $4,500 and receive $4,365. Our profit split calculator runs that chain for any number.
Payouts: speed, method and proof
The base split is 90%, rising to 100% with a paid add-on, and the crypto product cards describe a two-week payout cycle. The minimum funded payout is $100.
| Payout detail | AquaFunded |
|---|---|
| Direct crypto | Only for amounts under $5,000 |
| Rise | $500 and up, by bank or crypto |
| Fee | 3% of every payout |
| Stated guarantee | 24 business hours, or $1,000 extra |
The firm does not name the coin or network for its direct crypto payouts. Its speed promise is its own guarantee; we hold no independent record of AquaFunded payouts. We could not confirm whether you can pay for a challenge in crypto, because the help centre does not list checkout methods.
What changed in October 2026
Three changes landed this month. The two crypto challenges went on sale. List prices rose on four forex ladders: the $100K 1-Step Standard went from $421.60 to $453.39, and the $100K 2-Step Standard from $375.20 to $472.98. And the 2-Step Elite's maximum loss widened from 10% to 12% for accounts bought from 22 October 2026, alongside a new funded rule called WaveStop: a floating loss of 1% of balance cuts the split to 50%, a second to 25%, and a third breaches the account. Every dated change is in our rule change log.
Who AquaFunded suits, and who should avoid it
It suits a trader who mainly trades forex, wants occasional crypto exposure, and values a cheap entry ticket over everything else. US traders should note that the United States is not on the 18-place restricted list, and two platforms are marked as available to US clients. Traders in nine further countries, including Singapore, Japan and Brazil, are limited to Instant Funding up to $50,000.
It is a weaker fit if crypto is your main market. Leverage tops out at 1:5, rules for the crypto products are thin, and the 3% fee plus the $5,000 crypto cap make it less attractive than crypto-first firms. Crypto Fund Trader offers far more pairs and higher leverage, and Breakout pays USDC on demand with no processing fee.
AquaFunded review verdict
AquaFunded is a real, operating firm with published rules for its core products and some of the cheapest challenges anywhere. For crypto, though, it is a side offer: low leverage, a rulebook printed on cards, and a fee on every withdrawal. Buy it for price, not for its crypto depth, and compare it against the best crypto prop firms before committing. Our CryptoPropFirms score is 72 out of 100.
