This Funded Trader Markets review is written for traders who want crypto inside a multi-asset prop account. The firm, which brands itself FTM (not to be confused with the Fantom token of the same ticker), offers 39 crypto CFDs, keeps them open over the weekend and charges no commission. Its weak points are an unusual floating-loss rule and a 5% fee on every crypto payout, and both deserve a close look before you buy.
Who is behind Funded Trader Markets
The ownership picture is the first thing to untangle. According to the About page, the business is Formed Technologies INT FZCO, registered at Dubai Silicon Oasis. The Terms, however, make a Cypriot company, FTM Funded Trader Markets LTD, the party you contract with, as well as the website owner and payment agent. A third company, Funded Trader Markets LTD in Saint Lucia, holds the MT5 licence. Odder still, Cyprus appears on the firm's own restricted-country list.
None of that makes FTM a scam. It publishes its rules, it has a written refund policy and the RBI's Alert List does not mention it. But no founding year is given, and we found no public payout feed. Our guide to whether crypto prop firms are legit explains how we weigh evidence like this.
How the challenges work
FTM sells three families, and all of them include crypto:
| Rule | 2-Step Plus | 1-Step Nitro |
|---|---|---|
| Target | Phase 1: 8%, phase 2: 5% | 10% |
| Daily loss | 4% of starting balance | 4% of starting balance |
| Max loss | 10%, static | 6%, trailing the high-water balance until the account is 6% up |
| Consistency | None | Evaluation: 50% of target per day at most; funded: 45% of profit per day at most |
| Open-loss limit | Shield Risk Protocol at 1% | None |
| Split at start | 70%, or 90% with a free add-on | 90% up to $10K profit, 80% after |
The Instant range (Standard, Plus and Pro) skips evaluation, starts at a 50% split and climbs to 80% by the fourth reward. Each day's loss limit restarts at 17:00 New York time, measured from whichever is higher, balance or equity. In UTC terms that means 21:00 while New York is on summer time and 22:00 the rest of the year.
The Shield Risk Protocol
This is the rule that matters most, and it applies to 2-Step Plus and Instant Plus. If floating loss on open trades reaches 1% of the initial balance, FTM closes the positions and steps your split down: 50% becomes 40%, then 30%, and finally a permanent 20%. Since 15 October 2026 the 1% is measured against the initial balance and triggers when the loss reaches or exceeds it.
On a $50,000 account, a 1:5 bitcoin trade worth $10,000 reaches the 1% Shield line once price moves 5% the wrong way, a move bitcoin can make in an afternoon.
If you trade crypto with real size, Nitro avoids the Shield entirely, though it has a trailing floor and a consistency rule instead. Use our drawdown calculator and consistency calculator to test your own numbers.
Weekend and leverage
FTM's FAQ confirms crypto is enabled for weekend trading on every platform it offers, and each weekend day gets its own daily limit. BTC and ETH get 1:5, while the other 37 symbols get 1:2, in every program and at every stage. A $10,000 altcoin position therefore needs $5,000 of margin. Our weekend holding guide compares the alternatives.
Costs and value per $10K
FTM charges no commission on crypto and doesn't publish typical spreads or swap rates for it. Its list prices are not round in places ($997.50, $1,872.50), which suggests they were worked back from the near-permanent sale. When we checked, the site was running "up to 75% off", and the sale price is what buyers were actually charged.
| Account | 1-Step Nitro sale (list) | Instant Standard sale (list) | 2-Step Plus sale (list) |
|---|---|---|---|
| $5,000 | $24 ($80) | $31 ($52) | $31 ($100) |
| $10,000 | $33 ($116) | $49 ($70) | $49 ($152) |
| $50,000 | $165 ($480) | $228 ($360) | $228 ($784) |
| $100,000 | $330 ($622) | $442 ($723) | $442 ($997.50) |
| $200,000 | $749 ($1,096) | β | $749 ($1,872.50) |
At sale prices, the $100,000 Nitro costs $33 per $10K and the $10,000 Nitro the same, which is cheap by any standard. At list prices the $100,000 Nitro is $62.20 per $10K. Instant Pro starts at $43 for $5,000, and a $300,000 Nitro lists at $1,622. Compare against other firms on our cheapest crypto prop firms list.
Refunds are narrow. You get your money back within 14 days, provided you haven't traded the account. Once you start trading, the fee is instead paid back as a 100% "performance bonus" with your third reward, except on Instant accounts.
You can pay by card or in crypto: BTC, ETH, SOL, LTC, TRX, USDT and USDC. USDT can go over Tron, ERC20, Solana, Arbitrum, Optimism or Polygon.
Payouts and the 5% crypto fee
Withdrawals are on demand. The smallest reward you can request is 1% of starting balance, measured before your split is applied. Crypto payouts go out as USDT on Tron or through Rise, which also offers bank transfer. KYC happens after funding, and the account stays read-only until it clears.
Every crypto reward loses 5% of the trader's share, which FTM says pays for network costs, liquidity conversion and infrastructure. The wording covers both direct USDT and coins taken via Rise. On a $2,000 share you receive $1,900. If a Nitro account earns $12,000, your share comes to $10,600 (90% of the first $10,000, 80% of the remaining $2,000), and $530 of it goes to the fee.
FTM publishes no payout speed. Firms that send stablecoins without a processing fee are listed on our crypto payouts page, and the payout calculator lets you model the net amount.
Recent changes
October 2026 brought three updates. The Shield Risk Protocol was redefined on 15 October as described above. Indonesia came off the restricted list on 21 October. And a time-limited Launchpad product called 1-Step Infinity went on sale until 30 October, costing $19 to $119 across sizes from $5,000 to $40,000. It uses a 9% target with 3% daily and 3% static overall loss limits. Our change log has the full record.
Who it suits, and who should avoid it
FTM suits traders who want crypto alongside forex, value weekend access and can trade without letting open losses run. The United States is not restricted, which widens its appeal. If you use the CryptoPropFirms referral code, note that it does not reduce the price.
Avoid it if you hold through deep drawdowns, trade altcoins with leverage, or plan to take every payout in stablecoins. In that case HyroTrader and Propr pay crypto without a published processing fee.
Funded Trader Markets review verdict
Our Funded Trader Markets review scores the firm 62 out of 100. Sale pricing is attractive and the crypto list is wider than most multi-asset rivals. But payout terms score poorly: a 5% crypto fee, no published speed and no public payout record. Add the Shield Risk Protocol and the confusing corporate structure, and FTM is a firm to use with clear eyes rather than a first choice for crypto traders.
