Breakout vs BrightFunded looks like a close call on paper: both one-step plans ask for a 10% target, allow a 3% daily loss and set a 6% maximum loss. The difference is in how that 6% behaves. Breakout's floor stays fixed below your starting balance, while BrightFunded's 1-Step floor trails your equity until it locks. Add on-demand payouts and 10x on BTC, and Breakout is the better fit for most crypto-only traders. BrightFunded wins for anyone who wants MetaTrader-style platforms and flat leverage across altcoins.
Quick verdict
Breakout is the pick if you want a floor that never moves, payouts the day you ask, and the cheapest one-step entry ($20 for $5,000 on Turbo). It is owned by the Kraken group and runs its own terminal.
BrightFunded is the pick if you want DXtrade, cTrader or MT5, the same 1:5 leverage on all 48 crypto pairs, a EUR bank-transfer option, or a path to $400,000 of capital. It is a Dubai-based multi-asset firm, so crypto is one market among several. Before you choose it for crypto, note that its first payout only comes 30 days after your first funded trade.
Cost per $10K
The two firms price in different currencies (Breakout in dollars, BrightFunded in euros), so we do not convert or name a cheapest firm outright. On the matching 10% / 3% / 6% one-step pair at $10,000, Breakout Classic costs $85 and BrightFunded 1-Step costs β¬97.
| Plan | $5K | $10K | $100K | Per $10K at $100K |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Breakout Turbo | $20 | $40 | $330 | $33.00 |
| Breakout Pro | $33 | $65 | $545 | $54.50 |
| Breakout Classic | $45 | $85 | $800 | $80.00 |

| BrightFunded 2-Step Bright | β¬47 | β | β | β |
Breakout's 90% split add-on lifts the price by 20% (the $10,000 Classic becomes $102). BrightFunded refunds a challenge if you place no trades within 30 days of purchase, and its homepage advertises a full fee refund whose conditions we could not confirm. Breakout keeps the fee whatever happens.
Breakout vs BrightFunded rules head-to-head
The maximum-loss floor
Take a $10,000 one-step account at each firm. At Breakout the floor sits at $9,400 and stays there. At BrightFunded the floor starts at $9,400 but rises with your equity high: at $10,300 equity it moves to $9,700, and once equity touches $10,600 it locks at $10,000. Because BrightFunded counts open profit in real time, a trade that runs to +$400 and then reverses to β$350 can breach BrightFunded's floor while doing no damage at Breakout. Our trailing vs static drawdown explainer walks through this pattern.
If you want BrightFunded but hate trailing floors, its 2-Step keeps a static 8% (Bright) or 10% (Classic) floor across two phases.
The headline 6% is identical. The way it moves is not, and that one difference decides more accounts than price.
Other rules that matter
- Daily limit. Both use 3% on the one-step. Breakout resets at 00:30 UTC; BrightFunded does not publish its reset time.
- Leverage. Breakout allows 10x on BTC, 5x on ETH, SOL and other majors, 3x on mid-caps and 2x on small coins. BrightFunded allows 1:5 on every pair, which helps altcoin traders.
- Minimum days. None at Breakout; five on both BrightFunded challenge types.
- News. BrightFunded's funded accounts cannot open or close trades within five minutes of major news (profit is deducted, no breach). Breakout publishes no news rule.
- Consistency and stop-loss. Neither firm uses a consistency rule or forces a stop-loss.
Payouts
Breakout pays on demand around the clock, from $50 after the split, with approval in 12β24 hours. The only rail is USDC on Ethereum. BrightFunded's first reward comes 30 days after your first funded trade, then every 14 days; weekly and bi-weekly add-ons shorten later cycles but not the first one. It pays USDC (ERC-20) or EUR by bank transfer, with no minimum.
Both start at an 80% split and reach 90%. Breakout publishes a lifetime payout leaderboard; BrightFunded publishes no payout proof that we found. Neither appears in an independent payout tracker.
Platforms and access
Breakout runs the proprietary Breakout Terminal across 60 crypto symbols (63 markets total), with DXtrade kept for legacy accounts. BrightFunded offers DXtrade, cTrader and MT5 across 48 crypto pairs priced against the dollar, plus forex at 1:100.
Neither firm restricts the United States outright, but BrightFunded does not offer MT5 to US or UAE residents and citizens. Breakout lists 24 sanctions-based restricted countries; BrightFunded lists six. On trust, Breakout names two entities and an exchange-group owner, while BrightFunded's Trustpilot rating was withheld after fake reviews were removed.
Who should pick which
Choose Breakout if you:
- want a 6% floor that never trails on the Classic plan;
- want to be paid the day you ask;
- trade BTC and want up to 10x;
- want no minimum trading days and the cheapest one-step entry.
Choose BrightFunded if you:
- prefer MT5, cTrader or DXtrade to a proprietary terminal;
- trade small-cap coins and want 1:5 everywhere;
- want a EUR bank payout as well as USDC;
- plan to scale beyond $200,000, Breakout's total funded cap.
Full details are in the Breakout review and BrightFunded review. If neither suits you, our list of static drawdown crypto prop firms and the Breakout alternatives page are the next stops. Velotrade pairs a static floor with weekly stablecoin payouts, and Kraken Prop sells the Breakout programme inside Kraken Pro.
